Description

During the Californian gold rush, Californian Common or ‘Steam’ beer was the beer of choice for the working man, brewed in over 25 breweries in San Francisco alone, its popularity dwindled until in 1965 when only Anchor Brewery was still producing it, and was in financial strife, until Fritz Maytag bought a 51% share of the brewery.
